These bags were made for teaching purposes, and are used as demos in my classes. Classes are offered through Moody Beadsin New Westminster BC. During the first 2.5 hour class you learn to do flat peyote stitch and then to advance to tubular peyote. You also learn to start the amulet bag. Then you have several weeks to finish your "homework," which is to complete the bag part. In the second 2.5 hour class, you learn to close the bag, do a strap and fringe. I totally enjoy teaching and sharing my passion for seed beads. With each class, I meet many wonderful and inspiring people, learn so much and am always finding new ways to help others understand.
The patterns that my students get to choose from are designed with the fact that students are provided with 5 grams of 3 different colours of beads. They were made simply for classroom instruction and display.
Three of the patterns that my students get to chose from when making a bag in my class. Picture from Country Beads website

Exactly 720 beads of each of 3 colours. Large blocks of colour make a pattern easier to follow.

Same pattern as above, flipped and made with shiny beads. Shows the differences possible from 1 pattern.

Another "easier to follow" pattern, with exactly 671 beads of each colour.

Made using size 8 delica beads. For people that have a hard time seeing or manipulating the tiny beads.
This is great as a library card holder. I also use these beads for the initial instruction in peyote stitch.
Again, one pattern, two different flavours. The bottom picture is taken from the Country Beads website, as I don’t seem to have a picture of this bag in my collection.

Two of my patterns that I include on the CD I give all my students.

This one was done just for fun, from a Something a little less frilly.
